News 2nd September 2021
On October 7, 2021, Central Endpoint Protection (CEP) and Central Server Protection (SVRC) become end of sale for all customers. For clarity, this means no new sales and no renewals on these products.
Customers that are licensed for Central Endpoint Protection or Central Server Protection will be migrated to Intercept X Advanced (CIXA) or Intercept X Advanced for Server (SVRCIXA) for the remainder of their term. This gives them access to powerful protection features including anti-ransomware and deep learning AI that are not present in Central Endpoint Protection/Central Server Protection.
Starting on September 13, a process to migrate all customers will begin. It is expected to run for up to three weeks, migrating customers in groups. When a customer is migrated, they will see new features appear in their Sophos Central console.
Term customers will have access to all features included in Intercept X Advanced/Intercept X Advanced for Server for the remainder of their term. At the end of the term, they have the option to pay for Intercept X Advanced/Intercept X Advanced for Server, or higher. Alternatively, they can choose to move down to Intercept X Essentials/Intercept X Essentials for Server with the subsequent reduction in functionality. The migration process will begin on September 13 and run for three weeks. For more information on the migration process see this knowledgebase article.
Do customers need to take any action?
Customers need to deploy and enable the new features to benefit from the additional protections. We recommend doing so as soon as possible. This knowledgebase article covers how to enable the new features.
